Updated: Sep 26, 2021
CHELSEA VS MANCHESTER CITY
Its still early in the season, but the outcome of this match could have huge ramifications on the title race in the coming months. Even with Lukaku leading the line it seems that everyone is desperate to get on the scoresheet for Chelsea. City were frustrated against Southampton last time out, but the return of Kevin De Bruyne could spark some life into the City attack. They will know that they cannot afford to lose this match, otherwise they might fall 6 points behind the leaders.
PREDICTION: 1-1
ONE TO WATCH: KEVIN DE BRUYNE
MANCHESTER UNITED VS ASTON VILLA
This is defenitely one of the stand out fixtures in an action packed match week. United claimed all 3 points against West Ham in dramatic fashion after Jesse Lingard and De Gea took centre stage. Villa are picking up some momentum after dispatching Everton. They will be hoping that Leon Bailey will be fit for this encounter. He scored and assisted in a 20 minute cameo at Villa park last weekend.
PREDICTION: 2-2
ONE TO WATCH: DANNY INGS
EVERTON VS NORWICH
Everton will be dissapointed after losing 3-0 to Villa Last week. They have been hit with injuries to key players, but will be confident of claiming all 3 points against a struggling Norwich side who are the only side in the league that are yet to register any points. Daniel Farke will be concerned with his sides displays so far this season and the fact that their defence is non-existint.
PREDICTION: 2-0
ONE TO WATCH: ANDROS TOWNSEND
LEEDS VS WEST HAM
Leeds have not quite got out of second gear yet this season. They registered 22 shots against Newcastle but only scored once. West Ham will be disappointed with the fact that they failed to claim a deserved point against Manchester United, but they took revenge on Wednesday evening by knocking United evening out of the League cup. This match could deliver goals galore if both teams show up at Elland Road.
PREDICTION: 2-2
ONE TO WATCH: MICHAIL ANTONIO
LEICESTER VS BURNLEY
The foxes have been quite inconsistent thus far. They have suffered back to back defeats against Brighton and Man City. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that his side will quickly find their mojo so that they can start competing for the European spots. Burnley are winless so far this season. The likes of Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes will have to start scoring, otherwise Burnley might be in a spot of bother come the end of the season.
PREDICTION: 2-0
ONE TO WATCH: JAMIE VARDY
WATFORD VS NEWCASTLE
The Hornets will be pleased after dispatching Norwich last time out. They will be hoping that Dennis and Sarr will continue to score, because Watford have won all the games so far that they have scored in.The Magpies have been far from poor this season, but they unfortunately boast only 2 points to their name. They will be confident that their front men can terrorize the Watford back line.
PREDICTION: 1-2
ONE TO WATCH: ALLAN SAINT-MAXIMIN
BRENTFORD VS LIVERPOOL
Brentford put on a stunning display to see of Wolves in their last outing. Ivan Toney and Brian Mbeumo gelled really well and both got on the scoresheet. Liverpool were flattered by the 3-0 scoreline against Crystal Palace, but continue to stake their claims as title challengers. This will not be an easy outing for the Reds. Ivan Toney’s battle with Van Dijk is certainly one to keep an eye on.
PREDICTION: 0-2
ONE TO WATCH: TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD
SOUTHAMPTON VS WOLVES
The Saints will be raring to go after claiming a point against defending champions City. Wolves will be disappointed after their display against Brentford. Bruno Lage will be praying that Raúl Jiménez will start scoring again after returning from his fractured skull injury. Southampton are certainly full of confidence after their last match, but that might play into the hands of Wolves as they will look to get back to winning ways.
PREDICTION: 1-0
ONE TO WATCH: CHE ADAMS
ARSENAL VS TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Its NORTH-LONDON DERBY time! Arsenal have claimed back to back wins after their abysmal start to the season. Arteta will be hoping that his job is safe for a little longer. Spurs have certainly had a fall from grace after their perfect start. 3-0 defeats in both of their last matches will certainly worry Nuno Espírito Santo. I’m sure that most Spurs fans will be praying that Kane and Son will start to replicate their performances from last season.
PREDICTION: 1-1
ONE TO WATCH: SON HEUNG-MIN
CRYSTAL PALACE VS BRIGHTON
We all love a Monday night football match especially if its a M23 derby. Palace were definitely a challenge for Liverpool in their last match. They hit the woodwork twice and should have tested Alisson a lot more. Brighton are absolutely flying so far this season. They are sitting pretty in 4th place currently. They saw of Leicester in their last outing. This could be one of the best contested meetings between the two sides in recent years.
PREDICTION: 2-2
ONE TO WATCH: WILFRIED ZAHA
WHO SHOULD YOUR FANTASY CAPTAIN BE THIS WEEK?
Mo Salah has scored 5 goals in 6 matches so far this season whilst also assisting twice. Salah was by far Liverpool’s best performer last season and luckily he has carried that form into this season. Liverpool face Brentford in the last of the 7 Saturday matches that will take place. Mo will be licking his lips at facing the new boys as Brentford face their biggest challenge yet. I back Salah to reward his owners with a huge haul this week.
