GAME WEEK 19 PREVIEWS & PREDICTIONS
It was a bit of a dull weekend last time as we had six of the ten games postponed. It surely had a negative impact on the most of our fantasy teams. This weekend we will be treated to 9 games on Sunday and 1 on Monday. There has been no news yet regarding the postponement of the festive fixtures. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all the games will commence this weekend.
GAME OF THE WEEKEND
MANCHESTER CITY VS LEICESTER CITY
Is it possible to stop City at the moment? Most probably not. They were fortunate enough to play against Newcastle last weekend. They slaughtered them 4-0. Leicester fielded a strong side against Liverpool for their quarter-final clash at Anfield in midweek. They started at a blistering pace but Liverpool delivered under the lights at Anfield as they so often do. Leicester will have to be defensively sound if they are to get anything from this match. Pep will know that his side will need to be focused because the Foxes certainly have the quality to punish any lapses in concentration.
ONE TO WATCH: RIYAD MAHREZ
PREDICTION: 2-0
EASIEST 3 POINTS
NEWCASTLE UNITED VS MANCHESTER UNITED
It should have been Liverpool with the ”easiest” fixture but since their game versus Leeds has been postponed it’s now United who have the most comfortable game on paper. Newcastle lost emphatically against Man City by four goals to none. United have had a while to rest and recover. They have won their last 3 league games. They haven’t been to convincing but they still got the job done on more than one occasion. They should fancy their chances of an easy win at St James’ Park on Monday evening.
ONE TO WATCH: MARCUS RASHFORD
PREDICTION: 0-3
POTENTIAL UPSET
ASTON VILLA VS CHELSEA
Aston Villa had their match against Burnley called of at the last minute. They have had some time of to rest and regroup. Chelsea have lost some ground on Manchester City after back to back draws versus Wolves and Everton. They will know that they need to win at Villa Park otherwise the gap between them and the leaders will be to big. Gerrard will see this as a small opportunity to get one over old rivals. It should be a fascinating match and certainly one to keep an eye on.
ONE TO WATCH: OLLIE WATKINS
PREDICTION: 2-1
WHO SHOULD YOUR FANTASY CAPTAIN BE THIS WEEK?
GABRIEL MARTINELLI
2 Games have all ready been postponed at the time of writing this. There could certainly be some more games called of by the time the matches start. It is very important to choose your captain wisely and your vice captain. Arsenal face Norwich this weekend and the young Brazilian is one to watch. He is in red hot form at the moment after his brace against Leeds. He is definitely a player that score big in this game week.
Let’s hope that the most of the games this weekend will take place and that we will see some blockbuster encounters!
