CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINALS PREVIEWS & PREDICTIONS

The round of 16 is finished and this is where the action really starts! We have some tasty fixtures to look forward to and there is a major possibility of some big upsets!

BENFICA VS LIVERPOOL

It's Portugal versus England in this thrilling encounter. It's safe to say that Liverpool are the favourites but Benfica have already knocked out Dutch giants Ajax and they've got nothing to lose.

Benfica are third in the Primeira Liga and are 12 points adrift of Porto. They have the home advantage for the first-leg and they will need to use that slight advantage.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League and they have a MASSIVE top of the table clash with Man City coming up. This could lead to Klopp resting some players.

Benfica are the underdogs but they have deated Liverpool before and they could do it again.

ONE TO WATCH: LUIS DIAZ PREDICTION: 0-3

MANCHESTER CITY VS ATLETICO MADRID

This is most ceratinly one of the tastiest fixtures of the quarter-finals. Both sides are doing well in the league and are eyeing European glory.

Man City defeated Burnley comfortably by 2 goals to none at Turf Moor on Saturday. They have Liverpool up next in the league in what could be a title deciding match. They will fancy their chances of progressing against Atletico.

Atleti have won their last 6 league fixtures and are peeking at the perfect moment of the season. They are 3rd in the league and have Barcelona breathing down their necks. They need to focus on securing a top 4 finish to qualify for next seasons Champions League but they are still in the run for European glory.

Atletico have already knocked out 1 Manchester based side. Whose saying they can't do it again?

ONE TO WATCH: JAN OBLAK PREDICTION: 0-0

VILLARREAL VS BAYERN MUNICH

The biggest upset from the previous round came courtesy of Villarreal. They knocked out Italian giants Juventus. Emery will have full confidince in his team to complete another upset against the Bavarian juggernaut.

Villarreal are sitting in 7th place in La Liga and they don't have much to play for to be honest bu that allows them to turn all their attention to the Champions League. It's going to take another miracle for them to progress but they have already done it once so whose stopping them from doing it again.

Bayern are running away with the league and won their last game 4-1 against Freiburg. They will be confident of claiming a spot in the semi's but will still need to be at their very best to secure that spot.

ONE TO WATCH: ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI PREDICTION: 1-2

CHELSEA VS REAL MADRID

The final game of the first-legs is probably the biggest one. Chelsea secured their spot with a comfortable win against Lille over their two-legs. Real completed a historic come-back against PSG thanks to a sublime Benzema hattrick.

Chelsea lost their last league game 4-1 against Brentford. That should not cause to much concern though as even the best sides slip up sometimes. All they need to do is hold on to their 3rd place spot and focus on defending their Champions League title.

Real have basically won the league and can now focus all their attention on the securing a 14h UCL title.

This one could go either way so buckle up!
