Champions League Previews and Predictions

The knockout ties of the biggest club competition in the world is finally upon us and we're being treated to some of the biggest clashes you could possible dream of! PSG and Real Madrid will be the standout fixture but Inter Milan and Sporting will both be aiming to eliminate thier English opponents.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN VS REAL MADRID

Real have the upperhand in head to head matchups but this PSG side will be looking to turn the table when they welcome Los Blancos to the Parc des Princes. They received a huge boost with Neymar returning from injury. Messi has a prolific record against Real and will be looking to continue his great run of scoring against them. Kylian Mbappé's current contract situation will only add more fuel to the fire as both sides will certainly go for the jugular from the first whistle.

ONE TO WATCH: KARIM BENZEMA

PREDICTION: 1-2

SPORTING CP VS MANCHESTER CITY

This will be the first Champions League meeting between this two sides in what should be a free-scoring encounter. City will be returning to Portugal for the first time since they lost last seasons final against Chelsea at the Estadio do Dragao. Sporting haven't had trouble finding the net this season but if they are to cause one of the biggest upsets in the competions history the will need to tighten things at the back. City lost to both PSG and Leipzig in thier group games but still qualified quite comfortably. They are still chasing that elusive first ever UCL title and this might be one of their strongest squads yet. Will City prevail or will Sporting claim a famous victory?

ONE TO WATCH: PEDRO GONÇALVES

PREDICTION: 2-2

INTER MILAN VS LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are returnig to the San Siro for the second time this season as they face Serie A leaders Inter. Inter are finally making thier return to the knockouts of the Champions League after a 10 year absence. They have a great record against English sides however ( W11 D3 L2). They lost twice agianst Real Madrid in the group stages but will be confident of putting on a fair fight as they welcome the 2019 Champions to Italy. Liverpool won all 6 of their group games becoming the first English side to achieve this feat. Two great side with rich histroy battling it out. What more could you ask fore?

ONE TO WATCH: MO SALAH PREDICTION: 1-2

FC SALZBURG VS FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN

It's safe to say that Bayern are massive favourites to win this tie but in the Champions League you just never know what's happening next. Salzburg just about scraped through to the knockouts and are making their knockout debut as well. Karim Adeymi has been in inspired form and should be able to cause some concern for the Bayern backline. Lewandwoski is currenlty on 9 goals in this years competition and only 1 behind Sebastien Haller. The Austrian side won't be getting their hopes up but if they can keep the Bayern attack quiet then they most certainly stand a chance!
